About Me
Welcome to my creative space! My name is Hannah Applequist. I was born and raised in Springfield, MO, though I consider myself a Kansas native, as I have lived here for 15 years. I am a college grad with a degree in Music Performance. I spend a lot of my time playing percussion with various groups! I am also a private percussion lessons instructor to many wonderful students and love sharing music with them. I have always been very interested in the arts and absolutely love fashion, travel, beauty, and interior decor.
The last couple of years, my approach to my blog has shifted in order to use my influence to promote sustainable living, with a main focus in fashion. Though small, I want to do my part to help the planet and fight global warming, especially because the fashion/textile industry is guilty of being the second most polluter in the world. My goal is to share outfit inspiration to inspire you to shop your closets, as well as encourage thrifting and, when needed, purchase from sustainable and slow fashion brands.
The Emerald Slipper is inspired by my life in Kansas and is a fashion/lifestyle blog focusing on sustainable romantic, classic, and feminine styles.
