Style Trends for Fall (pt. 2)

Here is Part Two of the fall trends post! I hope the first part of this article helped you find some fun new pieces for the approaching season. Today's post has some of my favorite looks and styles of all time. Enjoy!

1. Faux Fur Coats

While this is definitely for colder weather, faux fur coats are a great staple for your closet. If styled correctly, they can be fun, feminine, and classy. I enjoy their coziness and warmth! This Parisian faux fur leopard print coat from ASOS is a great piece. Leopard print is back in a big way lately! You could style this coat with your favorite LBD for a classic look, examples here or here, OR you can be bold and pair it with a mixed print like a floral or a plaid.

I love this BCBGENERATION Patchwork Faux Fur Jacket from Nordstrom. Both this coat and the leopard coat can be dressed up or dressed down. I would style this coat with a graphic t-shirt, jeans, and a pair of loafers or boots. Check out some more of my favorite faux fur coats below!

2. Long Silhouettes

Long silhouettes are great for the cooler weather! I am such a huge fan of midi and maxi lengths on just about anything. Even though I am shorter (5'5" on a good day) I think that for my body type, (and most body types in my opinion) a good midi or maxi dress can make me look longer, leaner, and very cute. This Patchwork Print Dress from Zara is everything and the print is great for fall! I would wear this dress with chunky heels or some boots and a trench coat when it gets colder.

This Tularosa Ribbed Cardigan from Revolve would pair very well with the above dress! I love the coziness and thickness of the piece, and would wear this all through winter and early spring as well! Pair this with some leggings or jeans (Good American is a great brand for skinnies), a button-up shirt, and some over the knee boots for a cute, casual look.

3. Top Handle Bags

Bucket Bags are going to be huge for fall and I am obsessed with this Street Level Top Handle Bucket Bag from Nordstrom. It is definitely on my wish list! This bag is in two great neutral colors and would go with absolutely everything, so it is a great staple piece. I think it would look adorable with this adorable Vince Camuto dress in either color and booties (I own these).

This Kate & Alex Cuffaro Dome Shoulder Bag from DSW comes in about six different colors, so you can find one to fit with anything! DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) is a great place to buy discounted designer shoes, bags and accessories. I love this mustard color for fall, and have a similar piece in my closet. It is a great accent to a contrasting color, like this navy dress from Gal Meets Glam!

4. Mix and Match

Mix and Match pieces are a great way to get the most out of your money and the most out of a piece. I love separate pieces that can be paired together to make a matching set, or paired with other things from your closet. This is maximal functionality! This matching plaid t-shirt and jogging pants from Zara are a comfortable athleisure combination for fall. Dress them up with a pair of heels or dress down with some white tennies and denim!

As a musician, my closet has a huge collection of black objects, since we are required to wear all black for performances. This Top and Pants with Satin Stripes mix and match set (also from Zara) is a perfect option for performing as a percussionist. It gives me plenty of room to be comfortable, yet still feminine, and be able to play drums where I have to sit down like drum set or hand drums. I know this does not apply to many of you, but this is a great option for any women who need a nice black outfit and want something flowy or loose that isn't a dress! I would definitely wear this with the shirt tucked in, at least at the front, and some black kitten heels.
