Blown Away by Indian Rock

Updated: Feb 13, 2020

If there's one thing that Kansas is known for, its the wind. While it actually isn't that bad most of the time, the wind on some days can be a little crazy! This was one of those days. We quickly stole away to Indian Rock (a landmark in Salina) to take some pictures, and as soon as we started, the wind picked up. It was all I could do to keep my hat on! Luckily, we got some good shots, although we left a little less polished than we were when we arrived (my hair especially...). I loved this look with the beautiful natural grasses and flowers of early fall.

I have had this amazing Zara dress for over a year and it has since sold out, but I did find some similar options linked above! It has such a great rustic fall vibe and I thought it fit perfectly with the location. When I have a dress with a busy pattern, I really like to belt it to break up the look and create the illusion of length (God knows I need it..). This dress will be a staple in my closet for many more years to come!

I am getting a lot of use out of these Chinese Laundry booties that I purchased from Lulus! I love wearing them for warmer fall weather to get the same vibe while being a little cooler than you would be with normal booties. They are so comfortable and easy to put on and take off.. Believe me, I have some pairs (especially knee length boots) that refuse to let go after a long day.

I ordered this gorgeous macrame bag from Etsy a couple weeks ago and was so excited to style it with this outfit! I love the wooden handles. It is so great for fall and will be amazing for summer next year as well!

I finished off the look with a belt, similar belts linked above, and, of course, a hat! My hat is from Amazon and comes in about 15 different colors. It has an adjustable band on the inside! I also wore some brown hoop earrings from H&M that are part of a 4 piece set linked above. My lipstick is a neutral shade from Smashbox.
