Wednesday, our shoot experience for this outfit turned out very different than what we had planned. Gus and I had a great idea to go to a local park to shoot this look. This was our last chance to get pictures for my blog post done before our trip to Chicago. (I am actually sitting in our hotel room writing this!) We gathered our things and left my studio building, ready to get in our car and go. We then realized that we had both forgotten our keys inside and were locked out! It was a pretty chilly day, but I was very thankful to have grabbed my coat and my phone, so I called some help, and Gus and I roamed the alley ways around our building to get some pictures done while we waited! This outfit was not exactly ideal to be stuck out in the cold, but, luckily, we didn't have to wait long, and it made for some cute pictures.
I absolutely loved this sweater and skirt combo! Unfortunately, most of my outfit is older clothing, so many of the items I wore are no longer for sale or I couldn't find them. However, I have done my very best to link very similar options for you all today! This sweater is one of my favorites. I actually have it in two colors! Bubble sleeves are so in style right now and I fully support this trend. I also love the mock neck, slight crop length, and the waffle knit on this sweater. It pairs so well with this skirt and heels! Styling tip: I usually tuck in my sweaters a little in the front to create a more flattering shape.
This skirt from Zara was a dream, although too light of fabric, on this windy day. What I sacrificed in warmth, I gained in effect. The wind does wonders with this skirt and with every gust, it moved beautifully! I shared a patchwork dress a couple of posts ago, but this outfit is a different option for the trend. This skirt is romantic and girly, and is perfect for warmer fall days. It has an uneven hemline (shorter in the front and longer in the back for effect) and a short liner on the inside so it is not too sheer. I will definitely be pulling this skirt out for the spring and summer as well to style with a cami and sandals!
I was sad to discover that this bag from DSW is sold out, but I have linked just as cute options above! I thought that this bag fit well with the yellow/orange colors in the skirt, and gives some structure to a more flowing outfit. I picked my heels because of their complimentary color and texture, although I will definitely be wearing more substantial boots the next time I wear this as an outfit. I have linked both options above.
My jewelry was more modern and minimalistic with this outfit. I chose the fringe style gold necklace to add to the bohemian vibe of the outfit but to also add some clean lines and modern appeal. I wore a simple pair of small, gold hoops from H&M to finish off the look, and kept my makeup very natural and clean.
