Fall Fairy Tale in Son de Flor

Updated: Feb 13, 2020

My favorite shoots are the ones where we can be a little more "artsy" or whimsical. I love it when my pictures have more of a story and I like to express myself through that! This was one of those shoots and looks. I went for a minimal, practical, and monochromatic approach to my accessories and let this magical dress speak for itself.

This dress by Son de Flor, a European brand focusing on timeless and fairytale linen dresses, is so perfect for the fall season. It transported me back in time and was so flowy and unique. I love how big the skirt is and the pretty white liner on the underside. It peaks out from under the dress with a little movement and catches the eye! The dress is a bit pricey, but is a great staple piece that can be worn again and again and comes in many different colors and patterns. I am thinking about getting one in red for the holidays!

One thing I will warn about, and I am not sure if this was unique to my dress or if this is pretty common, but a few of my buttons were very loosely sewn on. They were loose enough that two fell off the first time I wore it. All it took was a little thread and I sewed them back on myself just fine, but I thought I would give a heads up!

Be ready to see these boots from Modcloth a ridiculous amount of times this season.. and next. They are my new favorite pair and are so adorable! See them styled in another look here. I think they fit so well with the dress and give it a "Little House on the Prairie" kind of look, but I like it!

This belt bag from Macys was the perfect pairing with the shoes and this dress! It added to the fall, rustic flair and helped cinch in the waist. I love that belt bags help accentuate your figure and give you a hands-free way to carry what you need! This one is small and very affordable.

I finished off the look with my favorite brand of lipstick, Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick, and some gold hoops from H&M. I always love adding a pop of color to a look!
