I absolutely love pieces that can be worn year round! Usually when you think of an item like that, a closet staple, you think of solid colored, simple pieces, not a plaid midi dress! However, when I first saw this dress in the July collection for Gal Meets Glam, I fell in love and noticed just how versatile it was! I started thinking, "I would wear it with this in the fall, or this in the spring!" It inspired me! So, I decided to show you all one way to style a dress like this for every season!
Spring
When I think of spring, I think of flowers, pastel colors, and a sweet, girly vibe. I embraced the feminine silhouette of the dress and the little pops of pink in the plaid pattern (say that 10 times fast) to create a perfect spring look! (Click the pictures or links below to shop!)
Summer
For summer, I went with zero layers and open-toed shoes (of course), played off of the beige colors in the plaid pattern, and embraced the natural and outdoorsy vibe of the season by styling a bamboo bag and tortoiseshell barrettes. (Click the pictures or links below to shop!)
Fall
Fall has to be my favorite time of year since I graduated! I love the cooler temperatures and the clothes! I told Gus when shooting this look that I get to embrace the darker side of myself. For the fall, I thought that burgundy would be a great pairing with the dress, as it would pop against the pattern. Burgundy has been huge the last few fall seasons! I also styled the look with a black wool, wide-brim hat and layered a form-fitting white turtleneck bodysuit underneath. (Click the pictures or links below to shop!)
Winter
I love winter too, though only for a little bit. The first snows are just magical and so fun to take pictures in! I also love the spirit of winter. Winter brings Christmas, snuggling by the fire, hot cocoa, and cozy sweaters! Speaking of sweaters, for this winter look I layered one of my favorite slouchy, black sweaters over top of the dress and knotted it in the front with a hair tie. This cropped length gave the look a more flattering shape and allowed the skirt to show the right amount! I embraced the black in the plaid pattern and added pearl accessories (my fave) and a red lip (also my fave)! (Click the pictures or links below to shop!)
