The little black dress is one of the most, if not THE most, versatile piece in your closet. It can be worn just about anywhere and can be dressed up for the fanciest event of the year or dressed down to take you to somewhere as casual as the grocery store. It is great for date night and for work! Today, I wanted to take one of my favorite LBD's from Rent the Runway and style it four ways for fall!

I, of course, had to style this dress with a plaid blazer! Plaid is such fall vibes and looks great with black. When I put this particular outfit together, I was thinking of a cute work look, but it could be worn to other events as well! I really like the structured dress and jacket together. It created great lines and a powerful look! I also added some great pumps and a more feminine shaped bag for some contrast. I topped the look off with a gold barrette!
Look #2

For my next outfit, I just thought of the coziest and comfiest things I could find. This monochromatic look is perfect for fall and into winter as well! I love all the grey tones and subtle pop of color and print. I started with this super cute and comfy great cardigan from Velvet Heart. Velvet Heart has amazing new fall/winter arrivals! (I just posted another yesterday!) Next, I added some comfy, low heeled Chelsea booties and a grey, wide brimmed hat to match. To add some visual interest, I layered on a cute, plaid scarf and a pop of color in the crossbody bag!
Look #3
Shop the Look: Faux Leather Moto Jacket, similar here, here, and here, Steve Madden Snakeskin Booties, similar here, similar clutch here, here, and here, similar necklace here, here, and here
I can't decide between this look and the next look for my favorite outfit of the day... they are just so fun and adorable but so different from each other! For this look, I thought of a date night or party look. I wanted something that made a LBD less serious and more fun/daring. I layered a pink, faux leather jacket over top and slipped on some amazing snakeskin print booties from Steve Madden! (BTW, I just recently became an ambassador for Steve Madden and am over the moon excited!) I finished off the look with a classy acrylic clutch and a sassy fringe necklace.
Look #4
Shop the Look: Gabby Lace Detail Top, similar here, similar booties here and here, similar clutch here and here, Rachel Parcell Embellished Beret, similar here
One of my favorite ways to style a dress differently is to layer a top over it and turn it into more of a skirt! This is a great way to wear a dress in cooler temperatures, as sweaters are so great for layering and it is very warm. I like to tie the sweater/top with a ponytail or two so it has a more cropped look that is very flattering for this shape of skirt. This top had little hints of burgundy thread in the pattern, so I embraced that by styling it with some adorable burgundy bow booties and a super pretty beret. For a pop of a different color, I finished off the look with a simple, white clutch!
