It is officially three days until Christmas!! Gus and I are frantically getting things in order for the happenings over the next couple days but wanted to take some time off to enjoy our local Christmas lights. This bridge is always a magical place, but especially so in the winter with the decor. The weather has also been unusually warm this week, so it was nice to not have to bundle up! Staying in the holiday spirit, I styled the third look for plaid week with all of this in mind. (Side-note: Gus got a new camera for Christmas and I think it made a world of difference! Let me know if you agree!)
This adorable, long sleeved, turtleneck top is perfect for layering and tucking in! It is such a soft, but thin, material and it tucks in wonderfully without leaving lines. Since the skirt had a lot of volume, I wanted to pair it with a more fitted top. When pairing fitted tops with loose bottoms (and vice versa), you create a more flattering shape and, for me, showcase the smallest part of the waist. I definitely have a pear shaped body, so this is the most agreeable type of outfit for me! I do not know where this exact top is from, but I have found some great, similar options linked above!
This amazing, plaid skirt from Zara is so perfect for this time of year! It is made of a nice, heavy fabric and is a great length! I love midi skirts so much and think they look so classic and feminine. The plaid pattern is a lovely mix of red, green, a little white, and blue, so there are plenty of color choices to pair with it! I chose to highlight the green in the plaid since it is so close to Christmas and because I love a good emerald green! (Hence the name of my blog).
I have had these adorable, green suede Alex Marie heels for quite some time. I purchased them from Dillards but cannot find them there anymore! I love the detail of their straps, the suede material, and the 3" heel height. They are so comfortable! They have a gorgeous gold detail above the heel that I did not capture on my film. I did find a pair of size 7.5's on Ebay and have linked some similar options above. I will keep my eye out for them if they make a comeback!
Transparent bags are everywhere right now and I felt that this one, from Nordstrom, added just the right amount of something different to the look. I loved the gold of the bag mixed with the jewel tones in the clothing. It is pretty small, enough to hold a lipstick, ID, and car key or your phone. I enjoyed the wrist strap when walking around the park and on the bridge, as it made it easier to hold on to.
To finish off the look, I wore these amazing bow earrings from BaubleBar. Their gold coloring fit in well with the details of my look and added just enough bling. I love a good statement earring and like to wear them alone with a busier print or texture. This way, it keeps the outfit from looking too over-styled. I used some blonde bobby pins from Target as a texture in my hair for a different look, and to help show off the earrings. I also wore some rings from H&M to complete my accessories.
One of my favorite red shades, Boss by Kylie Cosmetics, was the perfect pop of contrasting color to the look. You all know I love a red lip, especially this time of year. I think bright lips are the perfect finisher to a look. Just go for it!
