Gus and Hannah- 07/18/15
Today is Gus and my 4th anniversary! I can't believe its been that long already. It simultaneously feels like our wedding was yesterday and also like a thousand years ago. We've had our ups and downs (way more ups than downs), but we are going strong and fall more and more in love each and every day. In these four years, we have started businesses, moved to a new home, adopted our two dogs, Lilly and Lucy and our three cats, Rerun, Cosmo, and Trixie! We have traveled so many great places, and plan on visiting sooo many more! Gus is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without him!
How We Met
How Gus tells this is way better than my version, so I will use his version and do my best!
My Freshman year of college, Gus's Junior year, I walked into band camp the week before school started. (I was a Music Education major until I added Music Performance and eventually dropped the Ed. major.) Gus was a business major but heavily involved in music (He plays the upright and electric bass). Here is how he tells it, "I remember looking over the moment Hannah walked in the room. I knew instantly I was in trouble. By the end of the rehearsal I was already plotting on how to move out of my parents house and into the dorms because I knew I wouldn't have a chance to get know her otherwise(: Later that week, there were a bunch of people sitting around talking and getting to know each other. I decided to sit down for the sole purpose of learning more about Hannah. I asked about a couple other people first, so not to be too forward, and then asked Hannah about herself. Of course, Hannah remembers none of this(:"
My first gig when coming to college was to play in the pit orchestra at the Community Theatre for Les Miserables. Rehearsals for that show started basically when school did. Gus happened to be in the pit as well playing bass and was thrilled that I was in the show with him! At the start of the show, I actually was hanging out with one of the actors in the musical, but by the end, that relationship didn't work out. Gus and I had started talking and would sneak looks at one another from across the pit. We were hanging out a lot and started dating not long after the show ended!
I always thought it was so funny that I was basically single through all of Middle and High School but was only single for the first couple weeks of college! Gus and I have been together ever since, and got married the summer before my Senior year of college.
Here's to so many more years! I love you, babe!
