The First Snow

Updated: Feb 13, 2020

And, just like that, fall is over! We, sadly, didn't see much of fall here in Kansas. We had nice weather for a while, but because of a couple nights below freezing and even a snow, we didn't really get any fall colors and just dropped all of their leaves. I also didn't get to travel anywhere this fall because of Gus's new job, so here's hoping that next year I can get some pictures with the colors! These pictures were taken last week during our first snow of the year. We have already had two, the second being a day before Halloween.. yay... but I guess that will make for some great Holiday pictures!

Since the weather was super cold, for what we were used to, I wanted to dress comfortably and warmly. This sweater from Chicwish was so great for this weather! It is so cute and comfy. I absolutely love Chicwish and wear their clothes all the time. Their sweaters are so great and super affordable! I am wearing a size Small and like that it fit oversized, but if you want a more fitted look, I would size down.

I styled the sweater with my favorite pair of faux leather leggings, from Spanx of course! They are sort of a splurge but have been worth every penny! They are the only pair of leggings that I have found that are wearable as pants and not see-through! I have two pairs and wear them all the time in the winter. I wear a size small in these leggings and they fit snugly, which is what I like, but if you want a more relaxed feel, I would size up one size.

I decided to wear some classy, yet comfortable, faux suede Sam Edelman boots that I purchased from the Nordstrom sale. I love their quality and fit, and the heel is a very comfortable height for me. These boots also come in a black leather!

I purchased this adorable, leopard print crossbody from a sale at Aldo Shoes a while back. I absolutely love that it adds a pop of pattern to any look, and is super on trend as well! While this bag isn't available anymore, I found some great similar options, linked above!

I topped off the look, literally, with one of my favorite hats from Amazon! At only $16, and available in 16 colors, you can definitely find one to go with any outfit! It is great quality for the price and has an adjustable band on the inside to fit any head!

I also wore some simple, round stud earrings from H&M and my favorite lipstick from Smashbox.
