I know many of you, myself included, make an effort to better yourselves, physically and/or mentally, especially after the New Year and it is common for New Years resolutions to include working out more! Working out and staying fit is such a great thing. Studies show that regular exercise, besides weight loss, can improve your mood, increase your energy levels, strengthen bones and muscles, reduce your risk of chronic disease, and much more! With the exercise program that I am on right now, I work out four times a week for around 40 minutes of HIIT, Weight Training, and Ab Workouts. Working out is a huge part of who I am, and, of course, I love workout gear. It helps me to feel prepared and comfortable for the workout. I am guilty of wearing the clothing as an everyday outfit as well...
Here are some of my favorite workout clothes (click the pictures below to shop the items):
Crop hoodies are always great! They are super cute and look really good with high waisted leggings. Plus, their shorter length can help elongate the legs! Lord knows I need all the help I can get... It has taken a while for me to become more comfortable with them, but they are growing on me! This hoodie from Adidas was perfect for the look and fits very well! I wore a great sports bra from Old Navy underneath.
I am a sucker for a good pair of leggings, like this pair from Lululemon. I found this brand in New Zealand, believe it or not! They are a bit pricey, but they are some of the best leggings that I own and wear all the time. Yes, many people think that you shouldn't wear them as pants but a high quality pair can be just as flattering as a pair of skinny jeans. I always make sure that the fabric is very thick so it doesn't show anything and wear nude underwear with lighter pairs and black with darker pairs. I always choose a high waisted pair, as they suck everything in and make you look longer and leaner.
This bag from Puma is a great option for school, everyday use, and especially for schlepping workout clothes and gear to your destination, whether that is the gym or down a hiking trail, like my outing. This bag is so cute! Sadly, it is sold out, so I have linked some similar options for you above.
These shoes from Reebok are such a great, everyday pair! I found this pair thanks to a fellow blogger and I am so excited about them. They are specifically for walking and are very flexible and comfortable. I love their coloring! I paired them with black socks from Puma that mimic the black lines on the backpack.
While it did not make it in a picture, I am never without my Apple watch, especially when working out. I love that it keeps track of your active calories burned, exercise minutes, and helps you get off your rear and stand for a bit throughout the day. It also measures your heart rate and even helps you meditate for a minute a day, among many other features!
